ROLE OVERVIEW • MaxScale is MariaDB's database proxy. It sits between applications and MariaDB server clusters and provides high availability, scalability and load balancing, enabling read-write splitting, query limiting and transparent failover without changing the application. • The role joins the MaxScale team, focusing mainly on QA and release management and secondarily on maintaining the build infrastructure. MaxScale has many configurable components, so many configurations need test coverage. Developers write white-box system tests; this role covers black-box testing of complex scenarios, verifying product documentation, and managing packaging and release pipelines. • MaxScale and its tests are written in C++, so good working knowledge of C++ is expected along with solid SQL understanding.
