Research Engineer

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in CS, Maths, Physics, AI or a related technical field
• Strong foundation in AI/ML concepts and backend engineering principles
• Experience in fast-paced environments where requirements evolve quickly
• Over 7 years of experience, including at least 1 year hands-on with large language models

TECHNICAL SKILLS LISTED

• Research: fast iteration and experimentation; fine-tuning workflows, model optimisation, experiment tracking; statistical validation and data-quality assessment; frameworks such as PyTorch, Hugging Face Transformers, LangChain; exposure to research-driven product development or academic AI research is desirable
• LLM and agent development: building LLM applications with advanced prompting, RAG and agentic workflows; multi-agent systems, simulation frameworks or agent-based modelling
• Backend engineering: Python and frameworks such as FastAPI, Django or Flask; distributed systems and scalable architectures

PAY AND BENEFITS

• £80,000 - £120,000 a year
