JumpCloud is growing internationally and hiring a Staff Software Engineer for its India team. The employer wants a senior engineer with forward-looking vision to build new technology initiatives, build features, help drive architecture, define best practice and protect platform quality.

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING
Solve the largest, most complex problems and lead cross-functional projects
Define requirements through independent research and experiments with UX and Product Managers when requirements are unclear
Decompose complex problems into simple solutions
Influence teams to build highly available, reliable, performant solutions
Align strategy with Principal Engineers and Architects
Partner with engineering and product management on multi-team initiatives
Mentor others on advanced technical issues
Balance technical leadership and business judgement
WHAT THE EMPLOYER IS LOOKING FOR
12+ years as an engineer leading complex engineering projects
Cloud, microservices and SaaS architecture experience
Strong Go, with familiarity with Java, TypeScript or other languages
Domain expertise in Apple, Windows and Android device management and policy enforcement
Deep MDM and endpoint knowledge: policy management, enrolment, Apple Push Notification service across five operating systems
Public cloud (AWS, GCP or Azure), Kubernetes and CI/CD (GitHub Actions preferred)
Distributed systems and database experience
Designing solutions across services, front end and database
Strong leadership and collaboration across multiple teams from conception to completion
Working with ambiguity while delivering incremental value
Thriving in a fast-moving, team-oriented environment
Strong software design foundations
Working with geographically diverse remote teams

Remote-first: the role is done remotely from within the country named in the posting (India).
